Why Cooee?
Sarah grew up here.
She’s raising her kids on the family farm.
And she’s a nationally awarded architect.

  • Sarah Lebner

    DIRECTOR | ARCHITECT

In 2020, Sarah was (solely) awarded the Australian Institute of Architects’ National Emerging Architect Prize. The prize recognises an individual emerging architect's contribution to "architectural practice, education, design excellence and community involvement, which advances the profession’s role within the public arena."

In 2023, Sarah was selected as one of 5 participants for the Dulux Study Tour. “The Australian Institute of Architects Dulux Study Tour is one of our most coveted awards. It acknowledges early-career architects for their individual achievements and contribution to architectural practice, education, design excellence and community involvement.”

Until 2022, Sarah worked in Canberra as the Principal Architect at an interdisciplinary firm, Light House Architecture and Science. Here she worked under nationally recognised building scientist, Jenny Edwards, and they focused on achieving high levels of energy efficiency while studying affordability and buildability.

Outside of architecture, Sarah’s usually playing netball, swimming in the river, or chasing the kids on a pony (photo below).

Sarah and her family returned to the farm in Tooma, NSW, in 2022, to focus on providing leading sustainable design services to regional people and communities.

  • Jayden Storace

    GRADUATE MArch (UC 2017)

Jayden holds a Masters of Architecture (University of Canberra, 2017) and has experience working across a range of project scales; from residential to medical projects and schools.

Like many graduates, Jayden found himself questioning his career, and took a detour working remotely as an environment artist for a gaming company. But he knew he wanted to be an architect and find a job that aligned with his ethics of addressing climate change and increasing the accessibility of good design to those who can’t access it so easily, such as regional communities.

Jayden is based in the ACT with family connections to surrounding NSW. Outside of work you’ll often find Jayden refining his sketch artistry skills (see an image of one of his beautiful sketches below).

Jayden joined the team in 2023 and thrives on the challenge of reconfiguring existing home footprints to be more functional, light-filled, and connected to gardens and the outdoors.

  • Ella Bloor

    GRADUATE MArch (UC 2019)

With a Bachelor of Design in Architecture from the University of Sydney and a Master of Architecture from the University of Canberra, Ella brings a thoughtful, grounded approach to residential design. Her five years at Light House Architecture and Science developed a deep understanding of passive design principles and energy-efficient housing, with a focus on performance, liveability, and adaptability.

Having grown up in the Southern Highlands and now based in the Yarra Valley, Ella is passionate about regional architecture; designing homes that respond to climate, landscape, and community. When not designing, she's often riding or racing bikes, a passion that’s shaped a strong appreciation for place, and the varying ways people live in all corners of the world. (See an image below from Ella’s 2024 solo trip across Australia in 15 days, photo credit Phillip Sage.)

Alongside a commitment to sustainable design, Ella has a keen interest in interiors and detailing, crafting spaces that improve the livability and practicality of everyday spaces.
